Forward! Warriors First NBA Team to Wear 'Green' Jerseys with Sleeves

Representing the “spirit” of the Bay Area, the Golden State Warriors on Friday became the first NBA team in history to wear uniforms with sleeves when they defeated the San Antonio Spurs at home in overtime 107-101.

The jerseys, designed by Adidas, were made from 60% recycled materials.

The NBA does not allow players to wear t-shirts under their jerseys, so this was the first time in NBA history players have worn sleeves during a game.

“Partnering with adidas on this new uniform demonstrates the Warriors’ commitment to innovation and the progressive culture of the Bay Area,” said Rick Welts, Golden State’s president and chief operating officer. “The jerseys complement our players’ style on the court, but are also a nod to the style of our fans and the spirit of the Bay Area – innovation is ingrained in our culture.”
