Report: USC Targeting 'Dunk City' Coach Enfield

USC is targeting Florida Gulf Coast head coach Andy Enfield to be their next basketball coach.

According to Yahoo! Sports, the Trojans will try to hire the coach who took a No. 15 seed to the Sweet 16 for the first time in the history of the NCAA tournament.

Enfield was a former shooting coach and an NBA and collegiate assistant before his “Dunk City” team upset No. 2 Georgetown and No. 7 San Diego State before losing to No. 3 Florida on Friday.

Florida Gulf Coast players captivated the nation with the joy with which they played the game, and much of that was attributed to Enfield.

Enfield, who had to take his supermodel wife to Taco Bell on their first official date when restaurants at the St. John’s campus were closed after a basketball game, would fit well in Los Angeles.

In addition, USC is a football school, so Enfield would not have as much pressure to win at USC as he would have at UCLA, a school that only hangs national championship banners in their arena.
