The women’s hockey team suffered a heartbreaking loss to Canada in the gold medal game, but Julie Chu is proud of the team’s accomplishments at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia. So is America because the US Olympic Team chose her to carry the American flag during the closing ceremonies on Sunday.

The ladies had the gold medal in their hands with less than a minute remaining in regulation, but Marie-Philip Poulin scored with 55 seconds left to send the game into overtime. She scored the game winning goal about seven minutes into overtime. The Americans immediately broke down, wiped away tears with their hockey sweaters. Despite the loss, they stood with pride when each one received their silver medal.
