The two-and-a-half candidates still seeking the Republican nomination for president (John Kasich counts as a half because he can’t mathematically obtain the required delegates) don’t agree on much these days, but Sarah Palin is calling on all of them to unite behind a cause that Wisconsin voters surely support. The former governor of Alaska is imploring the White House hopefuls to help push a former NFL star over the goal line, straight in to the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
For some inexplicable reason, Jerry Kramer is not in the Hall. The Green Bay Packers great was one of the best offensive lineman to ever lace up a pair of cleats. He did it all on the gridiron, but he has been ignored by the enshrinement establishment. Now Governor Palin is running her own brand of the two-minute drill to finally give Kramer, now 80 years old, his due.
Palin mentioned her initiative while stumping for Donald Trump in the Badger State this weekend and then she took to Facebook to get the word out to the masses.
Palin wrote:

And now for the uplifting Wisconsin “Unity Pledge” I hope all good folks can rally around!
Last night in my Milwaukee GOP speech the topic of “unity” was addressed after calling for candidates here to UNITE behind a worthy cause during the heat of competition – getting their legendary Green Bay Packer #64 Jerry Kramer admitted to the Pro Football Hall of Fame – I hope Donald J. Trump, John Kasich & Ted Cruz will join this effort!Kramer had an illustrious 11-year career with the Packers where he was an integral part of the famous “Packer Sweep”. He was All-Pro 5 times, and the only member of the NFL’s 1969 50th Anniversary team NOT yet inducted in Canton. He’s appeared on the Hall of Fame’s list of finalists ten times, and the NFL Network lists him #1 on their list of players who should be in the Hall of Fame.
He’s a great guy, on and off the field; he’s always been living life vibrantly. (http://www.amazon.com/Instant-Replay-Green-Dia…/…/0307743381) Let’s unify for Wisconsin to get their #64 in the Hall of Fame!

– Sarah Palin’
Before becoming a Packer legend, Kramer played high school ball with Chuck Heath, Palin’s father. The ties to the Palin family are personal. But, the desire for a Kramer Hall of Fame nod is pragmatic and practical. Kramer belongs in Canton.
Along with Palin, others are also getting the word out for Kramer. Mike Ditka, the legendary Chicago Bears player and coach has been outspoken in his support of Kramer. Bears and Packers united. Talk about bipartisanship. Ditka is one of several Hall of Famers hoping to be joined by Kramer sooner than later. Kramer’s daughter has also been instrumental in the campaign for enshrinement. Alicia Kramer’s online presence has built up a pro-Jerry Kramer fan base all across social media.
Now, if only those who make such decisions would listen.
While the remaining candidates continue to differ on anything and everything as they duke it out in their quest for the presidency, Sarah Palin has tapped into something that we could all get behind — Jerry Kramer’s path to the Hall. Kramer’s already the unanimous choice in Idaho and Wisconsin. Now with a little help from Alaska, football fans hope to see his bust in Ohio a few months after a new president is sworn in in Washington.
