Report: Russian Intel Officials May Be Charged in DNC Hack

The Wall Street Journal cites “sources familiar with the investigation” in a Wednesday report claiming the Justice Department is close to charging six unnamed Russian government officials in last year’s reputed “hack” of the Democratic National Committee (DNC).

Pending further evidence, the idea that the DNC hack was an inside job is still just a conspiracy theory — but no crazier than the idea that Russia colluded with Donald Trump, for which no evidence has emerged.

Russians Also Tried to Hack Republican National Committee, and Failed

The Wall Street Journal reported on Friday that, according to anonymous U.S. officials (who are still driving the entire “election hacking” story with unsubstantiated leaks, on a daily basis), Russian hackers tried to hit the Republican National Committee as well as the Democrats, but were foiled by superior RNC security.
