CBS12.com- MIAMI — Florida Senator Marco Rubio is unveiling parts of his proposal to reform the U.S. immigration system. Rubio tells the Wall Street Journal, his plan includes a permanent residency provision. It also includes a road to citizenship for undocumented immigrants currently in the U.S. However, he also stresses that his plan is not a “blanket” amnesty measure. Rubio says the crux of the idea is economic. The senator also says American economic needs, including the expansion of the skilled workforce and supporting agriculture, have relied on undocumented workers.
