Tuesday, as news of a rebel coup erupting into chaos in Yemen broke on MSNBC’s “Andrea Mitchell Reports,” Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) pointed out President Barack Obama ludicrously touts al Qaeda in Yemen as a success story.
McCain said, “First of all, let’s remember that the president trumpeted Yemen as the success story. Yemen and Somalia of his foreign policy and national security policies, of course which is just ludicrous.”
“Right now, I wish you would have asked Valerie Jarrett or perhaps the chairman of the joint chiefs of staff or perhaps Susan Rice, what is the strategy to degrade and defeat ISIS, which the president articulated? I would love to hear that tonight. You’re not going to hear it. There is no strategy. There is no path forward to defeating ISIS,” he added.
