On Tuesday’s “CNN Tonight,” CNN Senior Legal Analyst and New Yorker Staff Writer Jeffrey Toobin stated that the Supreme Court upholding President Trump’s travel ban is a “shameful moment” for the court, and they are the final word on what kind of country the US is.
Toobin said, “You know, we’re going to be talking about this Supreme Court ruling 25 years from now, 50 years from now. And the real question here is, are we going to let presidents use subterfuge to hide racial bigotry and hide ethnic bigotry?”
Toobin added, “[I]t is shameful moment for the Supreme Court. Because they are the last word on what kind of country we are and it’s an embarrassment.”
