Grassley: I Think Kavanaugh Gets 54 or 55 Votes in Senate

During an interview with Neil Cavuto on Wednesday, Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-IA) stated he believes all the Republicans in the Senate will vote to confirm Supreme Court nominee Judge Brett Kavanaugh, and if the Republicans hold together, “we’re going to end up with 54 or 55 in a bipartisan way sending Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court.”

Grassley said, “I presume there’s going to be five or six hours of debate within our committee. And then, based upon the questioning of last week, I would expect that he’ll be approved by our committee on an 11-10 vote.”

He added that as of now, he believes all the Republicans in the Senate will vote to confirm Kavanaugh and “if we get 50 or 51 Republican votes, then I think we’re going to end up with 54 or 55 in a bipartisan way sending Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court.”
