CNN’s Brooke Baldwin: Fox News Propaganda ‘Inappropriate,’ Misinformation ‘Repeated and Repeated’

Monday on CNN’s “Newsroom,” host Brooke Baldwin criticized Fox News Channel while discussing the Drudge Report’s Matt Drudge’s tweet on Monday about a Fox News segment on the shooting at a synagogue in Pittsburgh, which killed 11 people.

After playing the segment on Fox News that Matt Drudge pointed to, Baldwin said, “Yeah, it’s just so entirely inappropriate. You know eleven people were just murdered on Saturday and they’re laughing, and he called them out. We’ve got the Drudge tweets.”

She continued, “Words matter. We know that the synagogue shooter invoked caravans and he specifically called these people invaders. Back to your points about what we found on social media with him. Let me just show you something that Newt Gingrich wrote for Fox News on Friday, the lede line, “The caravan of an estimated 7,000 Central American invaders trekking through Mexico toward the United States is roughly 11,000 miles from the nearest point of entry.” And he goes on and on. But the word I wanted highlight was “invaders,” because that was the exact same language that was used. And it’s not just Newt Gingrich, Lou Dobbs is being called out. And just back to you, is Fox just spreading pure propaganda at this point?”

When a guest said Fox is using “misinformation,” Baldwin added, “it gets repeated and repeated and repeated.”
