A new Emerson College poll shows that Donald Trump is only three points behind Hillary Clinton in Rhode Island, one of the most traditionally Democratic states in the country.
Clinton earns 44 percent support in the poll while Trump earns 41 percent.
A whopping 48 percent of independents in the state support Trump, while only 28 percent support Clinton. Libertarian Gary Johnson also earned 15 percent.
The Rhode Island poll was conducted Sept. 2-5 of 800 likely general election voters with a margin of error of plus or minus 3.4 percent.
