SCCY CPX-2: An Affordable, Accurate 9mm Handgun

SCCY CPX-2

The SCCY CPX-2 is a compact 9mm that is affordable, accurate, and made in the U.S.A.

It is small enough to work well for front pocket carry in cargo shorts–coupled with a holster like Clinger’s Comfort Cling–yet big enough to give its user confidence that he can actually fend off an attacker, should one strike.

The CPX-2 is 4 inches in height and 5.7 inches long. It weighs in at 15 ounces unloaded. But despite its diminutive size, the gun holds 11 rounds of 9mm–counting the one in the chamber. It ships with two double-stack 10-round magazines.

The CPX-2 three dot sight system and a double-action only trigger, which means a hammer is pulled back and released each time the trigger is pulled. This means the trigger pull is quite long, but that long pull doubles as a safety if the gun is carried in a purse or a backpack, because it makes it harder to accidentally discharge the weapon by snagging it on something. Moreover, the trigger pull is no hindrance to accuracy. If you practice up–as a concealed carrier should with any gun he carries–getting acclimated to the length of pull is not a problem. And this is especially true in light of how smoothly the trigger comes back.

The CPX-2 retails for just over $300 and it is difficult to think of another gun that provides as much accuracy, concealablity, and capacity for a similar price.

By the way, the CPX-2 can be ordered in Black, Crimson, Orange, Pink, Purple, Sniper Gray, and a number of other colors. This helps freedom look as good as it feels.
