SC Gov. Nikki Haley Encourages Selling SC-Made Guns in SC
On June 30 South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley (R) toured the new facilities of rifle manufacturer PTR Industries. While touring she stressed her commitment to see South Carolina-made rifles sold in South Carolina sporting goods locations.
Breitbart News has been tracking PTR's move from the gun-controlled environment of Connecticut to the gun-friendly, open arms of South Carolina from the time the move was first announced.
On July 1 John McNamara, PTR's vice president of sales and administration, spoke with Breitbart News about the Governor's visit.
McNamara said, "Governor Haley was awesome to talk to once again. She offered to help in any way possible, including a foot in the door at a new chain of sporting goods locations looking to expand in South Carolina."
He said Governor Haley wants new sporting goods locations entering the state "to carry state-manufactured sporting goods – i.e., rifles, reels, etc."
PTR has released a commemorative South Carolina rifle to celebrate the relocation, and McNamara said "initial response to the rifle has been tremendous" and sales around the state have been "strong."
