Sean Parker Getting Death Threats from Eco-Terrorists for Throwing Lavish Wedding

Internet mogul Sean Parker’s big geek wedding earlier this month grabbed the attention of the eco-terrorism crowd, forcing the newlywed to cancel his honeymoon and begin some serious PR work.

He’s also ducking insults, spit and death threats as a result.

The Napster co-founder unintentionally caused the problem by throwing a lavish, multi-million dollar wedding in Big Sur. He even spent $2.5 million, in part, to appease local environmental officials. He went so far as to enlist the help of Save the Redwoods to pick a spot best suited for the occasion.

Parker, famously portrayed on the big screen by Justin Timberlake in The Social Network, told CNET that wasn’t enough for the eco-crowd, apparently.

There are crazy people on Facebook typing death threats,” said Parker. “There were people — eco-terrorists — on my own Facebook page saying, ‘Let’s find this guy and put him out of his misery’…Psychopaths are hunting me.

Parker also savaged the press which published a crush of reports on his marriage ceremony and the subsequent fallout without checking the main source.

There were over 200 articles in a 72-hour-period, and not one reporter called me for a comment,” said Parker. “No one even bothered to try to reach me or my PR person.
