Without fanfare, CNN dumped Jack Cafferty, the curmudgeon who, like the network, portrayed himself as an independent but railed more often than not against conservatives.

According to Media Bistro, CNN did not renew Cafferty's contract and his last day at the news network was on November 15, which was also the last time he appeared on "The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer," where he contributed commentary on a near-daily basis.
