Sen. Levin Wants Vote on Hagel 'As Soon as We're Ready'
Senate Armed Services Committee Chairman Carl Levin (D-MI) has indicated that he wants to schedule a committee vote on the confirmation of former Sen. Chuck Hagel (R-NE) as Secretary of Defense "as soon as we're ready to have a vote," according to CNN.
Levin criticized Republicans for raising objections to Hagel's failure to disclose sources of foreign funding to organizations with which he has been involved, including the Atlantic Council. "He's been asked for things no prior candidate has been asked for," Levin told CNN.
On Wednesday, Levin postponed a vote that was to have taken place on Thursday. In his most recent comments, Levin gave no specific date or deadline for a vote on Hagel.
