Four Islamic State (ISIS) flags have been confiscated after being raised near the Pakistan Ordnance Factory (POF) in the city of Taxila.
The flags followed reports that an ISIS spokesman “visited banned militant outfit Jundullah,” an offshoot of the Pakistan Taliban (TTP).
According to The Economic Times, the four flags were taken after being found “near the entrance of the POF complex.” Additionally, police and intelligence agencies have launched an investigation to see “who put the flags in the heavily-protected area.”
Because of the numerous surveillance cameras around the POF, investigators are hopeful they may have caught images of the perpetrators.
On September 2, Breitbart News reported that ISIS supporters were using chalk drawings and bumper stickers to recruit new fighters and broaden the terror group’s influence into border regions of Afghanistan and Peshawar, Pakistan. And on September 26, Breitbart News reported ISIS-linked militants launched an offensive alongside Taliban fighters that resulted in the deaths of over 100 people in Afghanistan’s Ghazni Province. Concern, therefore, that ISIS’ influence is spreading through either–or both–countries is not unfounded.
