San Francisco Giants closer Sergio Romo has teamed up with Three Twins Ice Cream for an ice cream flavor that gives him a platform to promote the DREAM Act and comprehensive immigration reform.
The “bold, organic flavor of Mexican chocolate ice cream” also comes with the tagline: “It only tastes illegal.”
Romo, who cut a video in support of the DREAM Act, also wore a shirt after the Giants won the World Series last year that said, “I just look illegal.”
The ice cream, which plays off of that tagline, has been on the shelves since the end of September.
A “pint of chocolate, with a hint of cinnamon, sells for $10 online and about $4 to $5 in retail stores,” and has been recently approved for sale at Whole Foods. Romo was born in California to parents of Mexican descent.
