Powers did state that she supports “government mandated contraception,” and “the government paying for it,” but disagreed with Clinton’s comparing the decision to policies in “anti-democratic” societies.
She argued “we do not live in Saudi Arabia or the Congo... to try to turn this into some misogynist plot against women is going a little too far. That's not what's going on here. This is a tough case. I went back and forth on it a lot and I can see both sides.”
