Rick Perry: Obama 'Doesn't Particularly Care' Whether Border Is Secure

Sunday on ABC’s “This Week,” Gov. Rick Perry (R-TX) criticized President Barack Obama for disregarding his constitutional duties to secure the border during the continuing humanitarian crisis in which thousands of unaccompanied minors from Central America flooding across the U.S.-Mexico border.

“The rule of law requires the Constitution of the United States to secure the border, and we haven’t done that,” Perry said. “What has to be addressed is the security of the United States, You know that, I know that, the President of the United States knows that. I don’t believe he particularly cares whether or not the border of the United States is secure. That’s the reason there’s been this lack of effort, this focus, this lack of resources.”
