Fmr CIA Officer: ISIS 'Would Have to be Silly' to Not Exploit Border

Former CIA Intelligence Officer Michael Scheuer said the United States faces a more serious threat than the United Kingdom from ISIS due, in part, to lack of security on the border that he argued ISIS “would have to be silly” to not exploit on Friday’s “Your World with Neil Cavuto” on the Fox News Channel.

“If anything, we have a more serious threat here domestically than the British do. We have 12 million people in this country. We don’t know what they are, what they do, where they come from. We’re confidently sure that every month a number of Arabs or Pakistanis [are] coming across the border illegally in the south,” he stated.

Scheuer described currents efforts to secure the border as “standing next to a bonfire with a garden hose … the FBI and local and state police people don’t have a clue about who is in this country,” and added ISIS “would have to be silly not to take advantage of that opportunity, and you can say many things about the Islamists, but silly they are not.”
