New Jersey republican Governor Chris Christie predicted the state would generate $1 billion from Internet gambling in its first year. Unfortunately, it appears the state will come nowhere near that figure. That, according to The Press of Atlantic City.
Per NJ.com, “Just $8.4 million in revenue was collected from the time online wagering began in late November until the end of the year, the Press said.The Borgata, Caesar’s and Bally’s generated 73 percent of the revenue.”
Casino officials in Atlantic City are now estimating from $300-500 million in online gambling revenue, as oppose dot Christie’s previously projected $1 billion.
