Gays Go Wild In Florida, Demand Repeal of Same-Sex Marriage Ban

Here we go again.

It seems as if the Gay lobby is up in arms again, over not being able to get married in the state of Florida. A lawsuit has been filed in Miami-Dade county,Florida, demanding that gays be allowed to marry.

As you recall, the SCOTUS struck down the 1993 Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) that banned the federal government from recognizing same-sex marriage, but did not  strike down the state measure of  DOMA, which allows states to “recognize legal marriages performed elsewhere.”

This is dumb. Floridians, including those gays living in the state, had a chance to make same-sex marriage legal in 2008, when the measure was put on the ballot to be voted on. About 62 percent of Floridians voted in favor to ban gay marriage, including the the recognition of gay marriages conducted in other states.

Let’s put it on the ballot again, If Floridians vote to make same-sex marriage legal, so be it. If they smack it down again, that is just life, deal with it.

Look, I don’t have any problem with gay people marrying. Gays should have the same opportunities heterosexual couples have to lose half of their earnings in divorce.
