LIVESTREAM: The Outbreak of the First World War and its Consequences for Western Civilization

The First World War that launched the “terrible twentieth” century as Winston Churchill called it, commomorates its 100 year anniversary this year. Citizens, statesmen, and scholars have upped the debate about the causes and consequences of the “War to End All Wars.” The connection between the First World War and the Second is clear, but what impact does this century old conflict have on current world politics?

With the rapid acceleration of events in Eastern Europe and the Middle East, is the world on the precipice of another great war? 

These issues will be discussed by the AFA Conference of the Air featuring Sean McMeekin (author of July 1914); Douglas Bardow ( Cato Institute); Diana West (author of Death of the Grown Up); David Pryce Jones ( author of The Closed Circle) and Richard Weikart ( author of Darwin to Hitler).
