Now that the U.S. Supreme Court has mandated that gay marriage be allowed in every state in the union, long-time gay activists Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream is introducing “I Dough, I Dough,” a new flavor, in celebration of the decision.
“Across the country and around the globe, the movement for marriage equality is on an unstoppable roll,” the ice cream company said on its website.
“With this ruling, the SCOTUS recognizes the bond of love and commitment between two people, and protects the fundamental rights and freedoms that come with it,” the statement reads.
To celebrate, the company is renaming its Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough ice cream “I Dough, I Dough” throughout the Summer at all Ben & Jerry’s Scoop Shops, as well as online.
Ben & Jerry’s has been in the thick of pushing governments to allow gay marriage for years. In 2012, for instance, the company renamed an ice cream “Apple-y Ever After” in the UK when Britain was considering allowing gay marriage.
