Center for Medical Progress Calls Planned Parenthood President Accusations of Violence and Murder ‘Illogical, Fictitious, Slanderous’

Roughly 15 days after the undercover videos claiming to show the sale of aborted baby body parts by Planned Parenthood officials hit the internet, Planned Parenthood Federation of America President Cecile Richards finally spoke about the controversy by calling for an investigation into the group that produced the videos.

In a television interview, Richards called the group “militant” and implied it was behind the bombing of abortion clinics and murders of abortion doctors.

“The folks behind this, in fact, are part of the most militant wing of the anti-abortion movement that has been behind, you know, the bombing of clinics, the murder of doctors in their homes and in their churches,” Richards stated during her interview on ABC’s This Week. “And that’s what actually needs to be looked at.”

Breitbart News contacted The Center for Medical Progress for a response to Richards’ statement in which she suggested the organization is behind violent and murderous acts. A spokesperson from The Center for Medical Progress told Breitbart News:

Planned Parenthood is desperate to get away from the fact that they profit from payments for their aborted baby parts. They are so desperate to avoid this issue that they are grasping at any statements, no matter how illogical, fictitious, or slanderous, to distract from their own lawbreaking. The Center for Medical Progress follows all applicable laws in the course of our investigative journalism work and is entirely nonviolent. The same cannot be said for Planned Parenthood’s barbaric late-term abortion and baby parts business.

Breitbart News researched The Center for Medical Progress, which was founded in 2013 – just two years ago by David Daleiden who formerly worked at Live Action, a pro-life nonprofit organization founded in 2004 that was behind previous undercover videos shedding light on corrupt behavior.

A Google search of Daleiden, his organization, and Live Action did not produce any evidence suggesting that either of the organizations, or Daleiden himself, were behind anti-abortion violence, as Richards suggested.

Breitbart News reached out to Richards about her allegations that those who work at The Center for Medical Progress are “militant” and guilty of murder.

Richards did not respond to Breitbart’s request for clarification.
