The Judicial Crisis Network announced today a plan to spend more than $1 million on advertising in key states calling for “the people to decide” who should get to nominate a replacement for Justice Antonin Scalia.

JCN Policy Director Carrie Severino says:

Today, the Judicial Crisis Network is launching a ‘Let the People Decide’ advertising campaign.  In this first phase, we want to thank the U.S. Senators who say that the American people should decide who picks the next Supreme Court justice.  The American people are fed up with Washington politicians, and the selection of the next justice is simply too important to leave to politics as usual.  Give the people a voice.  Let them decide in November what kind of Court they want.

In addition to the Sunday morning talk shows, “Let the People Decide” ads will begin running in states with Senators “who have taken a stand including Kelly Ayoote (NH), Chuck Grassey (IA), Ron Johnson (WI), John McCain (AZ), Rob Portman (OH), and Pat Toomey (PA).”

The Iowa version of the ad thanks Chuck Grassley:
