Obama Would Hold Poor Kids Hostage to Transgender Ideology

Fairfax County school board member Elizabeth Schultz says that the new order from the Obama administration is a direct threat to poor children in her school district and around the country.

The U.S. Department of Education and the Department of Justice have ordered all schools that receive federal funds to accept the new transgender ideology including allowing men in dresses to shower with women and girls.

Schultz told radio hosts Larry O’Connor and Brian Wilson on WMAL radio in Washington DC that the majority of the money that could be withheld if school districts that do not adhere to the new transgender order of the Department of Education and Department of Justice would mostly effect the meal program aimed at helping the poorest students in the country.

Schultz also said the new order means “We are watching the end of women’s sports in schools.” Since the administration cites Title IX that there can be no discrimination for gender identity would mean that men and boys could now play women’s sports.

According to Schultz, Fairfax County schools, one of the largest districts in the country, has an annual budget of $2.5 billion. She said federal money totals only 1.65 percent of the total budget. She said, “I would gladly forgo this 1.65 percent in exchange” for being rid of this new federal intrusion.

The Fairfax County school district was one of the first school districts in the country to come under trans pressure from the Obama administration. In what was clearly a dry-run in preparation to today’s nationwide order, the Department of Education sent a letter to the Fairfax School District last year demanding that transgenderism be accepted in the school district. The school board voted to accept the new policy with only one dissenting vote; Elizabeth Schultz.
