At least two people are dead, after an unknown number of gunmen opened fire outside Club Blu in Fort Myers, Florida, where an “event for teens” was being hosted.

The shooting occurred around 12:30 a.m. More than a dozen others received various levels of injuries.

NBC News reports that “three people were detained for questioning.”

The event at Club Blu was called was a “no ID required party” for people 12 to 17 years of age. Club Blu said it had “armed security” at the event and it is “deeply sorry” that the attack occurred. Club Blu management said, “We tried to give the teens what we thought was a safe place to have a good time.”

NBC 2 reporter Gabrielle Shirley tweeted Club Blu’s statement:

USA Today reports that details on the shooting are still sketchy, but police say it was not terrorism or terror-related. Police identified the two deceased persons “as 14-year-old Shawn Archilles and local high school basketball star Ste’fan Strawder, 18.”
