GoFundMe Page for ‘Las Vegas Victims’ Reaches $8.2 Million, Volunteers Wait Hours to Donate Blood

Las Vegas residents and people around the world are coming together to help victims of Sunday’s deadly shooting, raising millions of dollars and waiting for hours to donate blood to the victims.

A GoFundMe page set up by local politicians in the area has raised $8.2 million for victims of the shooting as of Tuesday evening and has been shared over 244,000 times.

The money “will be used to provide relief and financial support to the victims and families of the horrific Las Vegas mass shooting,” according to a statement posted on the fundraising page.

Hundreds of people who lined up to give blood at various donation centers throughout the Las Vegas area have waited for hours to donate as blood donation centers are trying to keep up with the influx of donors.

Local officials urged people to donate blood in a Monday press conference just hours after the gunman killed 59 and injured more than 500 people after opening fire on a country music concert.

Las Vegas officials say the turnout has been so “overwhelming” that they asked people to hold off donating blood — at least temporarily. They added that police cannot process all the food that has been donated but urged those who want to help to give bottled water to the Red Cross and donate money to the GoFundMe page.

The FBI is asking those who have photos or videos of the shooting to call 1-800-CALL-FBI. Authorities ask those looking to report a missing person in connection with the massacre to call 1-866-535-5654.
