Netflix Still Rules Streaming Realm

Netflix no longer has the streaming world to itself, what with Hulu Plus, Amazon Prime and Redbox crowding the space.

Those competitors have yet to put so much as a dent on Netflix’s command of streaming content, according to a new survey by The NPD Group.

The company accounted for about 89% of the TV streams, while Hulu Plus had 10% followed by Amazon Prime’s 2%.

Netflix currently has the most original content of any streaming service, from news shows like House of Cards and Hemlock Grove to the return of Arrested Development. Amazon Prime, which offers far less content than Netflix but counters with Amazon.com delivery deals with membership, currently greenlit several new shows for its streaming service.
