Hollywood celebrities followed along with the Republican National Convention on social media Monday night — though most had nothing good to say about the proceedings.
Liberal stalwarts like Michael Moore, Sarah Silverman and Bill Maher chimed in, while comedian Chris Rock tossed in a jab and Cher got in on the action with one of her trademark all-caps-lock exclamations.
Didn't think my esteem for the GOP cld get any lower, but I was wrong. And its only the first hour of Night One. #NoShameInTheirGame

Now they're saying"Hillary deserves to be in stripes." Really? Pastels maybe or autumn hues, but not stripes. Quit hating on what she wears!

Musician Josh Groban wrote that the air in Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland appeared to be “thick with hate.”
I dunno. I have red and blue friends. I liked George senior. The air in that room feels thick with hate. I don't like that.

While comedians Chris Rock and Mike Birbiglia cracked jokes:
I'm watching the republican convention it's pretty good. What time does George Zimmerman speak. pic.twitter.com/uafItbHcrs
— Chris Rock (@chrisrock) July 19, 2016
White dudes helpin' white dudes helpin' white dudes. #RNC2016

Star Trek star George Takei took on Donald Trump directly by replying to one of his tweets:
The job's about more than "looking" smart & tough. You have to BE those. Alas, you'll never know what that's like. https://t.co/w9lRFFnRaW
— George Takei (@GeorgeTakei) July 19, 2016
And TV personality Billy Eichner and pop icon Cher filled the all-caps-lock tweet quota for the night:
FREDDIE MERCURY IS SPITTING ON YOU AND YOUR HATEFUL HOMOPHOBIC AGENDA FROM HEAVEN WHERE HE IS HAVING GAY SEX WITH LINCOLN
— billy eichner (@billyeichner) July 19, 2016
