USA Network is developing a limited series about President Ronald Reagan from his daughter Patti Davis and former Empire co-executive producer David Rambo.

Davis, Deadline reports, will serve as executive producer on the still-unnamed project which will reportedly depict a personal profile of one of America’s most celebrated and beloved presidents.

From Deadline:

Written by Rambo, the untitled limited series is described as an intimate exploration of what made Ronald Reagan an American paragon, beloved husband and complex father, chronicling his early days as a lifeguard, his tumultuous years in Hollywood, and his triumphs and tragedies as President.

While the USA series is the first on-screen treatment green-lighted in cooperation with a Reagan family member, it is not the first feature to explore the life of the late president.

History is currently prepping the anthology The Commanders, a scripted series about former U.S. presidents that will feature Reagan.

Last year National Geographic Channel aired its drama, Killing Reagan, based the best-selling book of the same name from former Fox News host Bill O’Reilly and produced by veteran director Ridley Scott’s Scott Free Productions.
