After Stephen Colbert left Comedy Central to be replaced by comedian Larry Wilmore, critics were exultant. But three months after taking over that hour, Wilmore’s ratings have taken a serious tumble.

Despite the acclaim, the newly renamed Nightly Show with Larry Wilmore has seen ratings fall 40 percent in the demo from Colbert’s numbers.

According to the numbers, Wilmore’s show has averaged just 417k viewers in the key demographic of 18- to 49-year-olds. On the other hand, Colbert was earning an average of 683k viewers in the key demo.

Wilmore is also down in the 25-54 demo, off 37 percent from Colbert’s ratings. Additionally, Wilmore is down 38 percent in overall viewership from Colbert’s 1.24 million viewers.

Meanwhile, Fox News has been earning around 1,789,000 viewers in the 11PM hour.
