Ynetnews reports: Soldiers from the Paratroopers Brigade, currently stationed in the north, conducted a large-scale combat exercise in the Golan Heights intended to simulate an operation on the Syrian side of the Golan against the al-Nusra Front and Shuhada al-Yarmouk (Yarmouk Martyrs Brigade).
The two extremist groups currently control the majority of the border with Israel and are aligned with ISIS.

In such a scenario, the IDF will be required to conduct an unprecedented, yet limited operation across the border. Such an operation would likely resemble the raids in the Gaza Strip in the two years following the 2005 disengagement.
