NASHVILLE, July 27 (UPI) — A team with a very young offensive core could be adding a decorated, yet declining deep threat.

Seven-time Pro-Bowl wide receiver Andre Johnson worked out for the Tennessee Titans Tuesday, according to John McClain of the Houston Chronicle.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter called it a “feel-out session for both sides.” The Titans have voiced concerns over Dorial Green-Beckham, who was possibly passed on the depth chart this fall at the wide receiver position.

But Johnson has slowed since his days with the Houston Texans. His arrival could be in part to motivate the young Green-Beckham and in part to aid quarterback Marcus Mariota’s growth.

NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport said that “no signing is imminent.”

The 35-year-old had 1,012 receptions for 13,597 yards and 64 touchdowns in 12 seasons with the Texans. He dropped off last season with 41 receptions for 503 yards and four touchdowns in his lone season with the Indianapolis Colts.

Johnson told the Chronicle’s Aaron Wilson that he is just “waiting for an opportunity.”
