A 7.5 magnitude quake struck off the Pacific coast of Guatemala, El Salvador and Mexico Wednesday, the US Geological Survey said, calling it a preliminary reading.
The Pacific Tsnumani Warning Center said there was no destructive widespread tsunami threat. The USGS said the quake struck at 1635 GMT 39 miles (63 kilometers) from Suchiate, Mexico in the southern province of Chiapas.
