US Speedskating national team coach Chun Jae-Su and assistant Yeo Jun-Hyung have resigned their posts after being accused of physical and emotional abuse by several of their skaters.
Chun, who guided short-track speedskaters, has been accused of abuse by 12 members of the US squad and allegedly ordered US skater Simon Cho to sabotage the skates of a Canadian rival last year.
Chun denied the allegations and US Speedskating investigators said last week they found no evidence of patterns of abuse by Chun.
The departure comes a week ahead of the first World Cup short-track event of the season in Canada. Interim coach Stephan Gough and team leader Pat Wentland will guide the American lineup at the meet.
Cho is facing disciplinary action and an appeals hearing on his case is expected soon.
