First Chinese firm to join Warsaw exchange in October

Peixin International, which makes manufacturing equipment, will in October become the first Chinese firm to trade on the Warsaw bourse, Central Europe’s largest, according to its brokerage firm.

Peixin launched a pre-flotation share offer on the Warsaw Stock Exchange (WSE) on Wednesday, the top Polish brokerage DM PKO BP said on its website.

Peixin hopes going public on the exchange will raise around 100 million zloty (24 million euros, $32 million), the Parkiet business daily reported Wednesday.

The company, which expects to list shares starting October 10, posted 11.4 million euros ($15.2 million) in net profit last year.

Chinese investment is still low in Central Europe, but in April of last year Premier Wen Jiabao pledged $10.5 billion in credit lines and funds aimed at boosting business in the region.
