UEFA announced on Thursday that all losing teams from the Europa League play-offs will enter a draw on Friday morning to decide who replaces Fenerbahce in the competition’s group stage.
The Court of Arbitration for Sport on Wednesday upheld a two-year ban from European competition imposed on Turkish giants Fenerbahce by UEFA for match-fixing violations.
They were allowed to play in the Champions League qualifiers while they appealed the ban, and beat Salzburg in the third qualifying round before losing 5-0 on aggregate to Arsenal in the play-offs.
Usually, losers from the play-offs are parachuted straight into the Europa League group-stage draw.
The replacement draw will take place in Monaco on Friday 30 August at 0700 GMT before the Europa League group-stage draw at 1100 GMT.
