Secretary of State John Kerry mourned the loss of a US foreign service officer in an attack Saturday in Afghanistan that killed three US soldiers, another US civilian and Afghan civilians.
Kerry said he had met the officer in Kabul last week, describing her as “smart, capable, eager to serve, and deeply committed to our country and the difference she was making for the Afghan people.”
