Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton returned to the Shanghai circuit to take part in Friday’s first practice for the Chinese Grand Prix, a day after he was forced back to his hotel after falling ill.
The Briton, world champion in 2008, reportedly suffered a slight allergic reaction on Thursday, forcing him to miss his media engagements.
He tweeted on Friday morning to his nearly 1.5 million followers: “Thank you for my messages. Feeling much better today thanks. On my way to the track, can’t wait to get in the car.”
The 28-year-old is in his debut season for Mercedes after ending his long association with McLaren at the end of the last campaign.
