Afghan police officer kills five colleagues: police

An Afghan police officer shot dead five of his colleagues Monday, an official said, the latest in a string of attacks by members of the security forces on their own men or foreign allies.

The shooter, identified as Dur Mohammad, the head of a police post in the northern province of Jawzjan was believed to have joined the Taliban insurgents after the deadly shooting, provincial police chief Abdul Aziz Ghairat said.
