Boeing confident in plane design, 'welcomes' review

US aerospace giant Boeing defended its Boeing 787 aircraft as “safe and efficient” and said it is “confident” in the vehicle’s design.

Boeing, under pressure after a series of 787 incidents in recent days, said it “welcomes” the opportunity to conduct a joint review with the Federal Aviation Administration.
