LOS ANGELES
Federal authorities have arrested a California man they say hacked into hundreds of social media and email accounts to coerce more than 350 women into showing him their naked bodies.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Tracy L. Wilkison says 27-year-old Karen “Gary” Kazaryan, of Glendale, was arrested Tuesday after being charged with computer intrusion and aggravated identity theft in a 30-count indictment.

Kazaryan is accused of hacking into the women’s accounts and searching Facebook messages, emails and other files for nude pictures of them. He then posed as a friend, persuading the women to strip while he watched.

When victims discovered Kazaryan was an impostor, prosecutors say he often extorted them by using photos he had fraudulently obtained to coerce victims into stripping and sometimes posted the photos to their Facebook pages.
