NEW YORK, April 21 (UPI) — Lena Dunham received a special gift from Jack Antonoff for their anniversary.
The 29-year-old actress showed off the moonstone ring Antonoff gave her Wednesday on Instagram, declaring the 32-year-old Bleachers frontman “boyfriend of the year.”
“Early anniversary gift from boyfriend of the year @jackantonoff (care of @eriebasin in Brooklyn.) Turn of the century moonstone and peridot. I will so enjoy looking at it while I type words,” she captioned the photo.
The Erie Basin website says the ring features demantoid garnets, not peridots, which “are one of the world’s rarest gems” and “prized for their lime color and almost diamond-like brilliance.” The Edwardian-era ring is set in 14K gold.
Dunham and Antonoff met on a blind date and have been together since 2012. The actress denied she and the musician are engaged to E! News in January 2015 after she was spotted with a ring on her left hand.
“That ring that everyone was talking about is a friendship ring I wear with [Girls writer] Jenni [Konner],” she explained. “I love my boyfriend, I’m very lucky to call him my life partner, but you will sooner see me pregnant with twins.”
Dunham later told Ellen DeGeneres she and Antonoff don’t plan to wed until gay marriage is legal in all 50 states. The actress explained “the idea of having a celebration that can’t be fully shared among all the people in my life … doesn’t really feel like a celebration at all.”
Dunham is best known for creating and starring as Hannah Horvath on HBO series Girls. The comedy-drama completed a fifth season Sunday and will return for a sixth and final season in 2017.
