‘Team Fortress 2’ game trailer teases new Mercenary Park map

Oct. 17 (UPI) — Developer Valve is continuing to support its long-running online multiplayer shooter Team Fortress 2 with a new update titled Jungle Inferno.

The upcoming expansion was teased Monday in a new trailer that features the characters of Team Fortress 2 discovering a new area that was once a yeti-infused theme park.

The animated short features fan-favorite character Saxton Hale using his incredible strength to defeat an angry yeti. Hale then decides that his failed yeti park can be used for battle between the characters of Team Fortress 2, renaming the area Mercenary Park.

Mercenary Park will be the first new map developed by Valve coming to Team Fortress 2 as part of Jungle Inferno, with new maps created by the community set to roll out over the course of a week, Polygon reported.

The new maps will work in game modes such as King of Hill, Payload, Payload Race and Attack/Defend. New emotes will be available as well including yeti-themed emotes created by Valve.

“After a decade of dustbowls and gravel pits, it’s time to pack your snorkel, find your flip-flops, and endure a series of painful yellow fever vaccinations to your abdomen, because Team Fortress is heading to the tropics!” reads the description for Jungle Inferno which is expected to release soon.
