WASHINGTON, Sept. 9 (UPI) — The Who announced the postponing of the first four shows of their fall “The Who Hits 50!” North American tour due to lead singer Roger Daltrey’s health.

According to the band, Daltrey, 71, contracted an unspecified illness and will spend the time between the initial tour launch on Sept. 14 to Sept. 21 to recover. Furthermore, the band’s iHeartRadio Music Festival performance has been canceled.

The rock-and-roll group’s North American tour will resume in Portland, Ore. on Sept. 24 at the Moda Center. Rescheduled dates for the postponed shows in San Diego, Anaheim, Las Vegas and Los Angeles will reportedly be announced at a later time.

The band’s current tour commenced in November of last year, multiple dates already having been postponed or canceled due to illness and scheduling conflicts.
