Three Moscow train stations evacuated after bomb threat

MOSCOW, Dec. 26 (UPI) — Nearly 3,000 people were evacuated from three Moscow train stations Monday after a phoned-in bomb threat, although police said no bombs were found.

An anonymous telephone caller told Russia’s Federal Security Service that one or more explosive devices were planted in Moscow’s Kazansky, Leningradsky and Yaroslavsky stations. All three stations are on Komsomolskaya Square in northeast Moscow.

Train passengers and station staff were moved to safety as police arrived with explosives-sniffing dogs. Fire departments, ambulances and rescue units stood by, although there were no reports of injuries. Police later confirmed no explosives were found.
