ADNOC Wins Best Stand Award at ADIPEC 2012 Exhibition

WAM ABU DHABI: The Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) has won the coveted Best Trade Stand Award at the Abu Dhabi International Exhibition ‘&’ Conference (ADIPEC 2012), which concluded at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC) today, with a record visitors number of over 50,000.

The double storied stand designed to reflect the prestigious image of ADNOC ‘&’ its Group of Companies as well as that of Abu Dhabi was voted the Best Stand among 1600 exhibiting companies from 91 countries, in recognition of its unique design, intellectual content and visitor success.

Director General of ADNOC, Abdulla Nasser Al Suwaidi, said: "We are really proud to have won this prestigious award and this is an honor for all of us in ADNOC. We are also glad that our stand continued to lure thousands of visitors from all over the world and this has contributed a great deal in our endeavor to promote our company, our industry and Abu Dhabi as a business hub in the region." Ali Al Jarwan, CEO of the Abu Dhabi Marine Operating Company (ADMA-OPCO) and ADIPEC Conference Chairman received the award from executives of dmg :: events, organizers of ADIPEC. Present at the award ceremony were key executives from ADNOC ‘&’ its Group of Companies.

Commenting on the award, President of dmg :: events Middle East, India ‘&’ Asia, Geoff Dickinson, said: "This is a brilliant stand.. It is not only incredible in terms of the design but also complex and it really befits such a big company like ADNOC which is a key oil and gas industry player. It was an easy choice. Once again I should say it is the most terrific stand I have ever seen." Judged the winner by visiting international media, the double-story ADNOC stand’s ground floor mixes interactive components such as digital audio visual displays with Middle Eastern-inspired imagery such as the Arabic ï؟ ½Mashrabiya” pattern. The upper floor has a private meeting area designed as a traditional Arabic majlis.

The two-level stand is well positioned in the main entry atrium of the exhibition venue. The design was created to be a welcoming place for both exhibition visitors and the company’s distinguished guests and VIPs, as well as a showcase for the ADNOC’s new vision of the future.

Inspired by Middle Eastern influence, the stand’s design is offset by the host of high-tech multi-media LED screens and interactive 3-D experiences, iPad app designed for geological survey; and the company’s brand-new recruitment centre for potential employees among UAE and foreign job seekers. Live technical presentations were delivered by ADNOC specialists at the stand, attracting scores of interested visitors.

ADNOC also has strong presence at the Offshore Hall which features the Oil and Gas Museum, a showcase of the UAE’s oil and gas journey from 1928 to 1979.

The conference has been a big success, according to ADIPEC 2012 Conference Chairman Ali Al Jarwan. "ADIPEC has been an enormous success and it is growing every year. It could not happen at this level without the wonderful support from all the sponsors, speakers, delegates and visitors." He said: "The relationship we share with our sponsors, and the enormous support they extend in helping ensure the success of the show is invaluable." Held under the theme of "Sustainable Energy Growth: People, Responsibility and Innovation," the Conference drew considerable interests from global players and professionals worldwide. More than 1500 papers and presentations were submitted to the Conference committee to choose from, and more than 200 submissions from 58 countries were selected to address the pressing challenges of the oil and gas sector and provide glimpses of the latest technologies and approaches used.

Over 50 sessions, participants and industry professionals reviewed the best practices and latest innovations in both downstream and upstream operations and the solutions developed to meet the various challenges facing the energy sector.

ADNOC and its Group of Companies have extensively participated in the conference with papers and presentations that aimed at sharing the Group’s best practices with energy experts and executives attending the event.

"The fact that oil and gas consumption is essential in sustaining our economic growth worldwide means that we constantly have to find innovative solutions to meet those challenges and surpass our previous endeavors," Al Jarwan said.
